RAPPER and American Idol judge Nicki Minaj is set to return to her "first love" acting, alongside Cameron Diaz.

The rap artist is in negotiations to play Diaz’s opinionated assistant at a law firm, in a comedy directed by Nick Cassavetes, according to MTV.com.

Minaj attended the LaGuardia performing-arts high school in New York but has made her name in music. "I may be working on something right now. I can't really say too much about it, but I definitely have the acting bug," Nicki told MTV , during an earlier interview. "That was my first love, so you just never know."

The Other Woman follows Diaz’s thrice-married character, as she discovers she is the other woman in an affair and goes on to team up with the wife to take revenge on the cheating husband.

Also signed up for the film are Leslie Mann (Game of Thrones), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as the cheating husband, and model Kate Upton, in the role of another mistress.

Minaj is currently appearing as a judge on American Idol and previously voiced animated mammoth Steffie in Ice Age: Continental Drift.
