BLAKE Lively is apparently "desperate" to avoid making a Gossip Girl movie.
The actress shot to fame playing New York socialite Serena van der Woodsen in the popular US TV show.
Gossip Girl came to an end last year, after six seasons, and plans for a big screen version are said to have been discussed.
While some of the other stars of the show are believed to be eager to reprise their roles, Lively isn't sure about returning to play her character. The 25-year-old blonde has reportedly "infuriated" her former co-stars by being less than enthusiastic about the project.
She's being pressured on all sides to sign on," a source told Star magazine. "But she thinks it's a terrible idea and is desperate to avoid the project."
Gossip Girl proved a successful vehicle for several members of the cast including Leighton Meester, Ed Westwick, Chace Crawford and Penn Badgley, who have all gone on to land further acting roles.
Blake has also done well from the show, appearing in movies including Savages, The Town and Green Lantern - where she met her now-husband Ryan Reynolds.
It seems Lively isn't the only castmate happy to leave Gossip Girl behind.
Leighton, who played Serena's best friend Blair Waldorf in the show, admitted she was looking forward to new challenges shortly before the final episodes aired last year.
"I'm glad. The closer it gets, the more happy I get," Leighton said at the time. "Now, I think I have grown up enough beyond what I am capable of doing on that show and I want to do something different."
Gossip Girl's executive producer Stephanie Savage fuelled movie rumours last year by admitting the idea was only "seriously" discussed when the show was coming to an end.
"We've never had any legitimate conversations about doing a movie until we were saying goodbye," she explained. "Then we said, 'We'll do a movie, Broadway show or reunion show, right?'"
