AUSTRALIAN Bon Jovi fans may see the band tour here minus guitarist Richie Sambora.

Sambora abruptly left the US rock band’s tour, citing personal reasons for missing a show in Calgary yesterday.

"Due to personal issues, Richie Sambora will not be performing on this upcoming leg. All shows will go on as scheduled,” a brief statement on the band’s website read.

Frontman Jon Bon Jovi has donated $100,000 to the Calgary Homeless Foundation as a gesture to make up for Sambora’s sudden disappearance.

Bon Jovi is quoted as telling the audience  “I had two choices: pack up and go home or give you everything I got … Richie Sambora won’t be performing for a while. If there’s ever a night I need you, it’s tonight, Calgary!”

The band have offered refunds to any fans who purchased tickets expecting to see Sambora.

Bon Jovi have dates through America, Europe and South America until October 25.

Sambora, 53, has struggled with substance abuse in the past, however gossip website TMZ hinted the guitarist may be clashing with Jon Bon Jovi over money.

Sambora posted on his Twitter page "Thank you everyone for your concern. I'm well, but had to stay in LA to take care of a personal matter. Love you all and see you very soon.’’

The band, whose latest album What About Now hit No.1 in Australia last month, are scheduled to tour Australia in December.

Dates have yet to be announced, however promoters have venues in each state on hold.
