Twitter's grandparents want validation

THE parents of Jack Dorsey, the founder of Twitter, have launched a campaign to become are begging to be verified users of the social network.

You'd think @marciadorsey and @tim535353 had earned that little blue tick.

In what seems like a co-ordinated approach, Tim and Marcia respectively lobbied Twitter's official rubber-seal service, @verified, overnight.

Then:

We won't bore you with the details but yes, they are really Jack Dorsey's parents and no, they still haven't been verified.

The proud ma and pa of Mr Twitter live in St Louis and mostly just Tweet pictures of the morning sun and articles about solar power.

Why does it matter if they're verified or not? It doesn't. It just seems fair that the grandaddies (and mummies) of social media get a bit of respect.

Could you imagine Mark Zuckerberg de-friending his mum?
