THERE was Frank and Nancy Sinatra, Nat King and Natalie Cole and now Mark and Hannah Seymour join the father-daughter duet club.

The former Hunters and Collectors frontman enlisted his 16-year-old youngest daughter to make her recorded debut on his new album of love songs, Seventh Heaven Club.

The pair join voices on the opening song Lorelei, originally recorded by The Pogues.

Seymour said he has been encouraging Hannah and her sister Eva in their fledgling music careers, getting up and playing with the girls at intimate gigs near their home in rural Victoria.

"Like the other duets on the album, I went in search of the appropriate female singer who could match the mood and tone of the tune - and Hannah came up,'' he said.

"It's practical because I've been playing in this wee covers band with her and her sister for the last we months to get the girls some pocket money and experience and the duet gave her experience in the studio.''

Hannah, who is completing high school this year, said she had been encouraged by the reaction to their blended voices.

"People have been saying that our voices go well together and that we sound comfortable together. I really enjoyed singing the song with dad,'' she said.

While there was a time when the talented offspring of famous artists refused to work with their families, Australia is over-run with musical dynasties.

Besides the prodigious Barnes clan, Elroy Finn is drumming in dad Neil's band on their Australian tour while Paul Kelly's nephew, Dan, has been a longtime collaborator with the legendary Australian singer and songwriter.
