THE Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 has received seven Razzie Awards.
The spoof Golden Raspberry Awards take place annually before the Oscars and are given to the worst movies of the year.
The ceremony's founder John Wilson announced the recipients at the utilitarian Continental Breakfast Room of the Holiday Inn Express Hollywood Walk of Fame hotel last night.
The final instalment of the vampire franchise was named worst picture, while its star Kristen Stewart received the worst actress prize. She did not attend to pick up the dubious accolade, although a cardboard cut-out of her was brought into the room when her name was read.
"The cardboard Kristen Stewart… was at least as lively as the real one, so I'm not sure we lost out by much," John said.
Twilight's Taylor Lautner was named worst supporting actor and also got the worse screen couple prize alongside Mackenzie Foy. Bill Condon received the worst director title, while the whole cast were dubbed worst screen ensemble.
The film was also named worst sequel, even though it has made over $828 million at the box office since its November release.
"The people who take it seriously, take it so seriously that our making fun of it is kind of the cinematic equivalent of making fun of the Oscars…" John said, when asked why Twilight had received so many Golden Raspberries. "I have a theory that the reason they make so much money isn't that 40 million different girls bought tickets, but that four million girls bought ten tickets each. That makes me feel better about the American public."
Last year Adam Sandler won ten of the prizes, but this time around he had to make do with two - worst actor for That's My Boy, which also got the worst screenplay prize.
Rihanna was named worst supporting actress for her part in Battleship.
"She's following in the footsteps of Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez and Madonna - singers who really can't act but get paid millions of dollars anyway," John said.
John was happy to talk about the voting process - which sees 657 people give their views - explaining Rihanna easily won her gong. However, Adam received only one vote more the Twilight writers in the worst screenplay category.
