WITH just over a month until the release of Baz Luhrmann's highly-anticipated The Great Gatsby, Warner Brothers have debuted a major new trailer for the film.

While the first clip asked the question, "who is Gatsby", the second gave a little more of the same but implied that Gatsby was hiding secrets.

And the third, which was released today?

"If you’re paying attention, it gives away the entire plot (except the conclusion) of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel," writes TIME Magazine.

The visually spectacular three minute clip also gives audiences the first taste of the soundtrack for Gatsby, peperring it with new music from some of the world's top artists.

Shawn "Jay-Z'" Carter assembled the finest female voices currently gracing the airwaves to feature on the soundtrack for The Great Gatsby.

You could call them Carter's Angels, with Jay-Z's wife Beyonce joining Lana Del Rey, Florence Welch, Fergie, Emelie Sande and our very own Sia on the 14-track soundtrack album, whose tracklist was released today.

Director Baz Luhrmann and Jay-Z have also secured some of the world's most singular stylish male artists to complement the much-anticipated film including Gotye, Bryan Ferry, Jack White, Andre 3000 and will.i.am.

Indie heroes The xx have also contributed the track Together for the film.

Luhrmann and Welch have become firm friends since he helped stage her scene-stealing performance at the annual Met Ball in New York a couple of years ago so it was a no-brainer that Florence And The Machine would write and record a new song Over The Love for his remake of the F. Scott Fitzgerald novel.

Del Rey teamed with American hitmaker Rick Nowels to pen a new song Young And Beautiful which premiered on the Gatsby trailer which dropped yesterday.

"It was an honor to work with Baz Lurhmann on his amazing adaptation of one of the most extraordinary books ever written. The movie is highly glamorous and exciting; Rick Nowels and I were thrilled to write the song for the film,'' she said in a statement.

Also featured in that latest online preview was Beyonce and Andre 3000's take on the Amy Winehouse tune Back To Black.

White reinterprest U2's Love Is Blindness for the film while Gotye's gorgeous Hearts A Mess will enjoy another boost up the charts courtest of Gatsy.
The first instalment of the soundtrack is out on May 10.
