FEDERAL authorities say platinum-selling rapper Ja Rule has left federal prison.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons says he left a correctional facility in New York's Adirondacks today, though time remains on his sentence.

The bureau says the release date for the 36-year-old rapper, whose real name is Jeffrey Atkins, technically remains July 28, with possible community-based supervision for the balance.

TMZ reports his wife picked him up and he'll remain in home confinement until then.

Ja Rule had served most of a two-year sentence for illegal gun possession in a New York state prison before his release in February and subsequent transfer into federal custody in the tax evasion case.

He admitted failing to pay taxes on more than $US3 million earned between 2004 and 2006.

THE devastating 911 call for help as family members tried to resuscitate Kris Kross rapper Chris Kelly has been revealed.

The phone call, released by TMZ.com, is believed to have been placed by his mother Donna Kelly Pratte after she found the "Jump" singer lying in his Georgia home.

The dispatcher, knowing the call was for an "unresponsive male," asked the woman to explain how she had found Kelly.

"I don't know exactly what happened," she said.

She mentioned he had been "out all night partying" and that she stayed up to wait for him, but after a few hours "he didn't come back."

The next day, after allowing him to rest, she found the 34-year-old was "not awake" and "couldn't tell" if he was breathing.

"I don't think [he's breathing] because he's just lying there," she said.

The female dispatcher is heard asking her to check for his breathing.

"Is he breathing?" the dispatcher asks.

"No ma'am," she replied.

The woman is heard calling out Chris' name.

An autopsy on Kelly's body conducted the day after his death showed no signs of trauma or foul play and it could be weeks before toxicology tests are revealed, according to the Fulton County Medical Examiner.

According to a police report, officers were told by Kelly's mother Donna Kelly Pratte that he had taken a mixture of heroin and cocaine - also known as a 'speedball' - the night before so she had brought him home.

Rapper recieves oral sex on stage

A HIP-HOP artist has outraged fans by allegedly receiving oral sex from an audience member while performing his concert on stage.

AllHipHop.com reports Detroit rapper, Danny Brown, spent much of the show being groped by fans before one in the front row took things one step further.

Brown reportedly continued to rap as the female fan lifted his shirt to perform fellatio, according to an eyewitness who posted her account online.

Fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar then sent Brown the following tweet, which seemed to confirm the incident: "@xdannyxbrownx u really just got the head on stage stanny???"

To which Brown replied: "<<<- and didn't miss one bar bruh bruh."

Both men have since deleted their tweets.

Rapper 360 lands gig at Lollapalooza

MELBOURNE rapper 360 has landed a slot on the prestigious Lollapalooza festival in the US.

360 impressed the festival's booking agents during a showcase at the South by South West festival in Austin last month.

This year's Lollapalooza in Chicago in August will also feature Nine Inch Nails, the Cure, Mumford and Sons and The Killers.

``The people from Lollapalooza are loving it, everything's going crazy at the moment,'' 360, aka Matt Colwell, said.

Perth band San Cisco, who also showcased at South by South West, will also play on Lollapalooza, as well as Adelaide's Atlas Genius.

Glenn Dickie, of Sounds Australia, put 360 on several key showcases at South by South West, an annual music festival in Austin which attracts more than 50,000 people, a mixture of music industry and music fans.

US promoters C3, who now own part of the Big Day Out, saw the rapper perform at an intimate event.

The promoters also saw a show in Austin where the power went out, leaving 360 to freestyle over a member of the audience who started beatboxing.

``There weren't a lot of people at his shows at South by South West, but it was quality over quantity,'' Dickie says.

``The promoters seeing him perform seemed to solidify everything.''

Another Melbourne rapper, Seth Sentry, won a battle at South by South West and will support LL Cool J in the US. He will also appear on US TV show Late Night with Jimmy Kimmel.

``They're two massive wins for Australian hip hop,'' Dickie says.

``In America and Canada most people have no idea that there is hip hop coming out of Australia. Having 360 on a massive festival like Lollapalooza and Seth Sentry on Jimmy Kimmel and opening for LL Cool J will help broaden the knowledge that there's music in Australia beyond country and rock. It's going to open up doors. The crossover potential in America could be massive.''

360 told News Limited he feels his Australian accent will work in his favour in the US.

``I want to be the first Australian rapper to break America,'' 360 said last month.

RAPPER Gucci Mane was being held in jail on an assault charge after a fan told police the artist smashed a champagne bottle on his head in a downtown Atlanta nightclub.

Fulton County Jail records show that Gucci Mane, whose real name is Radric Davis, was in custody early Wednesday on a charge of aggravated assault with a weapon.

An arrest warrant was issued for the rapper after James Lettley of Fort Hood, Texas, who's a member of the military, told police Davis struck him at Harlem Nights Club on March 16.

Mr Lettley said he was hoping to get a picture with the rapper when he was attacked.

It was unclear if Davis has an attorney.
