Dropkick Murphys want no Nazi salutes

STAGE invasions and crowd surfing are acceptable at Dropkick Murphys shows but a Nazi salute will get you smashed by the bass player.

The popular Boston punk band were surrounded by fans on stage as they ripped through AC/DC's TNT at a recent concert when founding member Ken Casey spotted a man repeating the offensive gesture.

The band had just finished an anti-white supremacist song at their two-night St Patrick's Day celebrations in New York when they launched into TNT.

Casey rushed over to the man and shoved him aside, inciting an onstage melee.

After the large bald man who had been flashing the salute was thrown off stage, Casey grabbed his bass and the microphone.

He took back the microphone and screamed, "Nazis are not f---ing welcome at a Dropkick Murphys show!"

The Dropkick Murphys play at Bluesfest in Byron Bay over Easter, the Luna Park Big Top on April 1, Melbourne's Festival hall on April 2 and the Thebarton theatre in Adelaide on April 3.
