IS NOTHING sacred? Now technology is coming to the aid of those seeking the ultimate snooker shot.

A project from the University of the Algarve in Portugal has created a laser augmentation system for the game of snooker.

A ceiling mounted camera tracks the pool cue and ball relative to the table's edges, pockets and other balls.

A computer does the math and projects the anticipated path the ball will take .

The prototype "PoolLiveAid" is being promoted as a teaching aid.
